Are you connected to the source?

Yesterday, my little boy, Azariah, brought the Amazon Alexa device to me. He always wants her to play ‘Old McDonald had a farm’. But he had unplugged the device to bring it to me and proceeded to get frustrated and upset when she was not responding.

A thought came to me. Sometimes, we can be like that with God. We can be crying out to him, praying, asking him for answers but not hearing anything back. We can even start getting frustrated with the silence, becoming impatient. But are we still plugged in to the source?

He is the source of power, and we can disconnect from him because we are not spending time with him, not praying, not studying the Bible, not serving, not being obedient. All the things we can do to deepen our relationship with God can also be the things that can distance us if we don’t maintain these spiritual disciplines.

We need to stay connected, just as Jesus taught us about the vine and the branches. We need to stay plugged in to the source, our source of strength.

If you’re going through a time of feeling like God is distant, maybe just reflect and search your heart. Are there things you can be doing to draw closer and plug back in?

Let’s press on to be who we were created to be.

  1. Yes there are things in my life that need attention. I’ve been praying a lot lately. Well I haven’t been praying a LOT, I’ve been praying the minimum which is one prayer a day and all your meal prayers. But my main point is that I need to read my bible more often. I actually had the strength to pick up my bible and read through like a big chunk of the New Testament just recently. It was the Lord who gave me the strength to do that. I want to encourage you to keep writing! for the Lord is good to those who work hard. There’s a saying in spanish and it says, “al maso dandole y a Dios rogandole.”
that literally translates to, “with the sledgehammer hitting it and with God begging him.” It means that we are to work our hardest and pray to God our hardest at the same time. Anyways, Just trying to encourage you to keep writing. I’m praying that God blesses your blog

    1. Thank you so much!!! This is so encouraging, and I’m glad it inspired you to look at your connection to the source. Sometimes, we just need to start reading, and then we want to read more. I really appreciate your encouragement and support. Every blessing, Amber
